GETTING HERE

  • Awaroa is beautifully road‑free, which is part of the magic. Getting here is an experience in itself:

    • By boat: Regular services operate from Kaiteriteri and Marahau with Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle, Abel Tasman Aqua Taxi and Wilsons Abel Tasman.

    • Beach landing: Boats land on the beach near Awaroa. An access ramp helps keep feet dry. From the beach it is an easy walk of about 20 minutes to the Lodge.

    • Luggage: Our 4WD buggy helps transfer luggage between the beach and the Lodge when conditions allow.

    • On foot: Walk the Abel Tasman Coast Track and arrive right at Awaroa. Please check DOC track updates before you set off.

    • By air: Scenic helicopter options are available with regional providers. Weather and daylight conditions apply.

  • If you are self‑driving, park at your chosen boat operator’s base at Kaiteriteri or Marahau, then continue by water.

SUSTAINABILITY

    • Energy‑smart operations including low‑energy fridges and LED lighting.

    • A simple ‘switch‑it‑off’ approach and many staff living on site reduce energy use.

    • Many guests arrive by foot or boat, helping to keep transport impact low.
